From when I first started playing water polo my freshman year, Beth Bailey was always someone I could rely on for help with anything water polo related. In less than a year, she taught me both the tangible skills and the mental components that are critical to the game. Coach Beth is very passionate, organized, attentive, and instructive, and she is always fully engaged in helping us to reach our full potential. Aside from water polo skills and tactics, Coach Beth also taught my team and I about leadership, accountability, and female empowerment. Overall, I could not have had a better coach to introduce me to water polo, and I would not want anyone else to be helping me through the college recruiting process right now.

When our oldest daughter took the leap from club volleyball to water polo, we did not know what to expect. Water polo was a new and foreign landscape for us. We were lucky enough to be connected with Beth Bailey, and from our initial contact with her to the present, she has been a huge asset in our navigation of the world of competitive water polo and now college recruiting. As a coach, she is honest and direct, pushing our daughter to excel and improve in all facets of the game. She has tailored her coaching and recommendations to our daughter's needs and her individual progress, while fostering her leadership and growth mindset. In terms of the college recruiting process, Beth is knowledgeable and articulate, mentoring our daughter in the beginning stages of her college search. Beth is able to speak to the specifics of different college programs, and make individualized recommendations based on our daughter's academic and water polo goals. She is always willing to listen and provide support in this journey, answering all our questions and providing guidance as we navigate the complex world of college recruiting.

Over the past 4 years, Beth Bailey has been a coach, mentor and unofficial career counselor for our daughter. We first met Beth when she coached my then 14-year-old daughter's ODP zone team. Our hometown has limited opportunities for play, and ODP was an opportunity for our daughter to learn and grow in water polo. Since that time, Beth has taken our daughter under her wing and guided her as her coach in successive Junior Olympics. She also facilitated key experiences that ultimately helped her decide if and where she would want to play in college. Then came the process of finding the right college with the right water polo program for our child. The path to Division 1 college athletics can be confusing and my husband and I certainly lacked the expertise to navigate this process.  As a former college coach and with her personal experience having 2 daughters in D1 water polo, Beth was indispensable to us throughout the process. She was essentially "on call" for my daughter as she engaged in conversations and negotiations with college coaches and weighed her options to play at that level. The best part about working with Beth is that she really got to know our girl and gave advice that considered carefully her wishes, strengths and goals. We are eternally grateful to the support Beth has given our daughter these past 4 years.

My daughter was relatively new to the game of water polo but knew she wanted to play in college. Our first call to Beth to discuss playing club was welcoming, kind, and empowering. She did not judge my daughter for being new to the sport but rather welcomed her with open arms. She encouraged her and supported her, while also pushing her to get to the next level at her own pace while staying competitive. There were challenging times with the competition at that level-Beth never lost faith in my daughter -she found a way to keep pushing and encouraging her while also setting goals to get her where she wanted to go. She was there for her emotionally and physically. And when it came time to look at colleges / recruiting -she could not have been more knowledgeable and helpful. Because she has so many relationships that connect her to different programs and coaches, she was able to guide us in the right direction towards the appropriate colleges. She not only genuinely cares about the sport of water polo but also about empowering women and making them stronger. If you have the determination and focus-Beth will never give up on you. My daughter is now currently talking to several D1 colleges and Coach Beth has been with her every step of the way.
